Congratulations to the following students who had artwork that placed in the 2011 Piedmont Interstate Fair. The fair was open from Oct. 10-16. Our winners were chosen out of hundreds of entries from 7th, 8th, and 9th graders from Spartanburg, Union, and Cherokee counties.
Winning 3rd place/Honorable Mention in Photography Division was 8th grader Cayla Crowder for her photo of a cat and for her photo of a gazebo roof.
Winning 2nd place in the Three-Dimensional Division was 7th grader Summer Tallman with her 3/D papier-mâché mask.
Winning 2nd place in the Painting division was 8th grader DaKendra Jeter with her monochromatic acrylic room painting.
Winning 1st place in the Drawing Division was Cayla Crowder for her self-portrait scratchboard. Carla also was awarded Most Outstanding Entry/Best Picture in the entire show for 7th, 8th, and 9th graders for her self-portrait scratchboard.
