This week’s Edward Jones/Woodruff Middle School Athletes of the Week is 8th grader Bailey Cooper.
Bailey is a second year member of the WMS Cubs Wrestling team. This past weekend was the annual Peachtree Conference Tournament hosted by McCraken Middle School. Bailey defeated all of his opponents in the 140 pound class to win the first place medal for the entire tournament. His coach, Michael Tumblin, says, “This was huge for Bailey and our team as it proved on that day that Bailey was and is the best 140 pound wrestler in the entire 11-member Peachtree Conference.” Coach Tumblin adds that he hopes that Bailey uses this as motivation to continue to work hard and get better.
Bailey will receive a t-shirt and a certificate from the Edward Jones Investment Company. Congratulations!
