Battle of the Brains 

 

Battle of the Brains is an awareness competition for area 7th and 8th graders. Students participating in the competitions are asked questions in the areas of spelling, grammar, geography, history, mathematics, sports, and current events. Students compete at the Chapman Cultural Center. Mr. Bill Drake is the founder and Quiz Master of the program!  More Information

Cub Club

Cub Club is a pep club designed to get Woodruff Middle School students involved in school spirit activites and increase school pride. Cub Club meets on designated home games during football, volleyball, and basketball seasons.  Students meet directly after school to play games, make signs, and practice cheers and chants.  The club sits together at contests to cheer on the Cubs!  More Information

Cubs Create

 

 

 

Cubs Create is an organization that meets during lunch/recess time and utilizes technology to complete service projects for the school.  Cubs Create encourages student participation in school and community promotions.  Club members create a digital photo album of the year and sponsor projects with bulletin boards, posters, web pages, book reviews and display cases. 

 

Cubs go to College

 

Eighth grade students travel to area colleges on a given day in the spring to get a feel for the college classroom experience. 

 

Cubs for Christ 

 

 

Cubs for Christ is a student led, student initiative club that meets typically once a week prior to school hours in a designated area of the school.  All students are welcome to each meeting. A typical meeting starts around 7:30am and finishes around 7:45am.  Students lead the group with a short devotional and prayer.  

 

ENGAGE 

 

 

Enabling Girls with Academics, Good Behavior, and Encouragement is a service organization for girls that meets at least twice monthly after school.  The club focuses on relevant topics "just for girls" and involves community resources to present meaningful programs.

 

National Junior Beta Club

 

Woodruff Middle School Junior Beta Club is an academic, leadership, and service organization.  Woodruff Junior High established the first Beta Club for middle grades Students must maintain A's and B's in all subjects, exhibit qualities of   leadership within the school, serve as a role model to other  students, and participate in service projects for the school and community.  More Information

 

Real Men Read

 

Young men meet in the Media Center the last Friday of the month at 7:30 am to hear from "real men" in our community.  Community representatives share the importantance of reading in their lives and in their work places.

 

Student Council

 

Student Council is a student government organization that promotes cooperation between faculty and students.  This organization helps students gain knowledge and practice in the democratic form of government.  Students are elected to this organization by their peers.  Members of this organization complete service points, which are earned by volunteering in school and community activities. 

 

Year Book

 

 

 

The Yearbook Club is instrumental is creating school yearbook, The Reflector, each school year.  Students are involved in taking pictures and contributing to the layout of the yearbook.  By being a yearbook staff member, students have the chance to create memories that classmates will enjoy for years to come.
