
WMS would like to welcome new teachers for the 2011-2012 school year, teachers who are actually very familiar faces to the Woodruff community.
Mr. Mark Soza moves from Woodruff Elementary School to the Math Learning Lab at WMS. Originally from California, Mr. Soza retired from the Army after 18 years of service and then entered the teaching profession. He has been in District 4 for 12 years. Mr. Soza received a BA in History from Claremont Men’s College in California and his M.Ed from Converse College. He and his wife Kathleen call Woodruff their home. They have one adult son (John Michael) and an assortment of dogs, cats and other strays.
Mr. Eddie Brooks is a new 6th grade social studies teacher. He comes to WMS after two years at D.R. Hill Middle School in Spartanburg District 5. A graduate of Woodruff High School, Mr. Brooks earned a BA in History and a Masters in Secondary Education from the University of South Carolina. He and his wife Ashley have two dogs, Petey and Benji.
